Hi, I’m Leo Muniz. A senior full-stack engineer with 20+ years of experience in crafting scalable software solutions that perfectly fit customers’ needs.
In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, taking airplanes, SPAs (not Single Page Applications, but wellness centers lol), playing guitar, games, and hanging out with my family and friends.

  • I’m from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Since August 2018, I have lived in +15 countries as a digital nomad.
  • I’m an Electronic Engineer, but since my internship in 2006, I have worked with software development and mainly web development.
  • My first published site was an online gift list made with PHP + MySQL for my sister’s shower bride in 2003.
  • My largest experience is with PHP, WordPress, vanilla JavaScript, Jquery, CSS, and Sass. But I already worked with many other languages, like Python, ASP, VB Scripts, Bash scripts, Node.js, React, C#, C, etc. And sometimes working with different platforms, like even programming an Arduino in C.
  • I’m currently studying WordPress block themes and Next.js hosted on Vercel.
  • I learn whatever I need to learn to overcome my challenges. That’s what I love about always having different challenges to work on. And that’s why I worked with many different languages, platforms, and frameworks.
  • I’m a musician. I play guitar, bass, drums and sing. I’ve composed around +13 songs and I have an album published on Spotify and other streaming services.
  • I ran a funded crowdfunding campaign for my former band, Primos, in 2017. We raised +$12k to perform a farewell concert, that happened on March 3rd, 2018.
  • I’ve been working remotely since 2006. And since 2018, I have been working for international companies.
  • My last role was as a development team Lead of a WordPress dev team at Awesome Motive. I started as a developer in November 2020 and I was promoted to Team Lead in April 2022. We were mainly in charge of maintaining wpforms.com, wpmailsmtp.com, and all the APIs that support the WPForms and WP Mail SMTP plugins.
  • I have great experience in creating User interfaces and User Experience and I like to create solutions and participate in decisions by sharing and discussing ideas.
  • In 2017, I earned a Codility Silver Award in the Manganum 2017 Challenge by Codility.
